Ok, I can go totally ferrel with a sugar craving.
So to avoid dashing out to 7-eleven for a Chokito bar, I make myself have this banana date smoothie first. And only after I drink the whole smoothie do I permit myself to go out and get a teeth frying chocolate delight. Invariably the smoothie does the trick and there is no more sugar cravings and no buying a Chokito bar or Crunchie.
Serve it in a cocktail glass to vamp it up and make it feel like a treat.
Ingredients
Bananas x 2
Vanilla essence x teaspoon or if really lux, use half a vanilla pod. Remove the vanilla from the pod case and don’t use the pod case itself.
Medjool dates x 2 chopped. Soak in boiling water first for a few minutes to soften. Remove the seeds.
Maple syrup x 1 – 2 teaspoons
Plant based milk – 300-400 mls
Cinnamon – ½ teaspoon + some to sprinkle on top of your cocktail smoothie
Blend all ingredients. Make sure you remove the seeds from the dates.
Serve in a cocktail glass and sprinkle with cinnamon.
And drinking this banana date cocktail smoothie will fill you up and ward off any sugar cravings!
